The
HR-1A Jet Engine Things
Heat Up with the Afterburner!
I know it is
a bit of a skip around, since there seems to be lots of
missing information, but I just couldn't wait to show off
the newest part of the HR-1A engine. The afterburner lit
off for the first time today, and is it ever a beast! I
just had to grab the camera and get some video to share
with you all here on the site. I do hope that you enjoy
it, and more information on the construction will be up
soon.
Afterburner test number 1
The reason that
I couldn't get the afterburner to light off is that I wasn't
giving it enough fuel. Once I just turned up the fuel as
far as the pump could push it, it lit right off and works
great now. Some more tweaking is in order, but the main
thing is that it works!
Thanks again
for stopping by and for providing your support to the site.
Hope to see you again soon!
Warning! The
projects depicted in this website can be dangerous. While
this website is not intended to be an instructional course
on how to build these projects, we do realize that individuals
may attempt to build their own versions. We highly suggest
that you take all appropriate safety precautions when dealing
with machinery, and use extreme care while operating jet engines.
Serious injury or death can occur while operating a jet turbine
engine in close proximity, due to explosive fuels and moving
parts. Extreme amounts of potential and kinetic energy are
stored in operating engines. Always use caution and good judgment
while operating engines and machinery, and wear appropriate
eye and hearing protection.
